Describe, a specific plan of the investigation that will take place. Give instructions as to the activities students will perform and what materials they will need (you may insert all your materials in the readings and assignements box). Describe ways and materials that the students  can use to focus on evidence as a source of answers to scientific questions. This is the phase in which students are being prepared for the subsequent phase of evidence gathering during observation.
